Howard Dean is a physician cum politician from the state of Vermont in U.S.A. He is the chairman of Democratic National Committee, which is the central organization of Democratic Party working at the national level. Dean got his medical degree from the Albert Einstein Institute of Medicine in the year 1978 and became a Democrat in the Vermont House of Representatives in the year 1982.
He chose medicine to be his main profession and interfered in State politics on a part time basis. After of Richard A. Snelling, he became the governor of Vermont in the year 1991. He served as a governor from 1991 to 2003. He was the second governor in the history of Vermont who served Vermont for more than 10 years.
From 1994-1995, Dean was the chairman of National Governors Associations. Dean was the main opposition leader in the 2004 Democratic Presidential election nomination. He also opposed Bush administration for invasion on Iraq in the year 2003. But he did not emerge as strong as expected against the Bush administration. He formed the organization called Democracy of America and in Feb 2005 he was elected the chairman of National Democratic Committee. In a way you can say that Dean is a doctor who treats politics.
