Born on March 8 in the year 1952, son of a former NFL Head coach George Allen, George Felix Allen is a United States Senator and a republican from Virginia, a commonwealth state. A graduate from Palos Verdes High School and a quarterback of the varsity football team, George Felix Allen attended University of California for a year and then migrated to University of Virginia for rest of his studies.

On November 5, 1991, he was elected as one of the senators in the US House of Representatives for Virginia 7th district. Allen’s career in the House of Representatives was for a very short span of time. Being a lawyer, Allen worked in the state legislature of Virginia as a governor. He also served US Congress. In a re-election in the year 2006 he lost to Jim Webb. Allen is currently working under Reagan Ranch Board of Governors of Young America’s foundation. He is Reagan Ranch Presidential scholar there serving the board very efficiently.

Allen has seen various ups and downs in his ever growing political career. In 1993 he was elected 67th governor of Virginia and served the state till 1998. Allen is not eligible now for a re-election since Virginia doesn’t allow a governor to succeed himself.

Howard Dean is a physician cum politician from the state of Vermont in U.S.A. He is the chairman of Democratic National Committee, which is the central organization of Democratic Party working at the national level. Dean got his medical degree from the Albert Einstein Institute of Medicine in the year 1978 and became a Democrat in the Vermont House of Representatives in the year 1982.

He chose medicine to be his main profession and interfered in State politics on a part time basis. After of Richard A. Snelling, he became the governor of Vermont in the year 1991. He served as a governor from 1991 to 2003. He was the second governor in the history of Vermont who served Vermont for more than 10 years.

From 1994-1995, Dean was the chairman of National Governors Associations. Dean was the main opposition leader in the 2004 Democratic Presidential election nomination. He also opposed Bush administration for invasion on Iraq in the year 2003. But he did not emerge as strong as expected against the Bush administration. He formed the organization called Democracy of America and in Feb 2005 he was elected the chairman of National Democratic Committee. In a way you can say that Dean is a doctor who treats politics.

Who is John McCain? He is a senior US Senator from Arizona and the Republican candidate in the 2008 election for the President of the United States.

John McCain is a third generation Navy man. He is a 1958 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He flew attack aircrafts as a naval aviator. On a bombing mission is 1967, his plane was shot down. Not only was McCain badly injured, the North Vietnamese captured him. John McCain was a prisoner of war for five and a half years in which he endured torture. He was freed in 1973.

McCain announced that he planned to run for President of the United States of America on the February 28, 2007, episode of Late Night with David Letterman. This is not John McCain’s first try at the presidency. George W. Bush defeated him for the Republican nomination for president in 2000. McCain received enough delegates on March 4, 2008 to confirm him as the presumptive Republican nominee for the presidential race of 2008.

If John McCain wins the election, he would be the oldest US president at the time of inauguration. On January 20, 2009, John Sidney McCain III will be 72-years-old.

Due to her marriage to Bill Clinton, she was the First Lady from 1993 until 2001.

A graduate from Yale Law, she was the first woman partner at Rose Law Firm in Arkansas in 1979. Hillary Clinton was voted one of the most powerful lawyers in the United States.

She has been active in many organizations for children’s well fare. Congress failed to approve her Clinton Health Care Plan in 1994.

Who is Barack Hussein Obama? Obama is the junior US Senator from Illinois, and is currently in the lead for the nomination of the Democratic party for the 2008 election. His opponent is Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Obama’s mother is from America and his father is from Kenya. Barack Obama, however spent his early childhood in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents sent him to Hawaii to live with his grandparents for the educational opportunities available to him. He also lived in Jakarta, Indonesia for four years.

Barack Obama announced he would be running for president of the United States of America in February of 2007 in Springfield Illinois. Comparing himself to Abraham Lincoln, he said “That is why, in the shadow of the Old State Capitol, where Lincoln once called on a house divided to stand together, where common hopes and common dreams still live, I stand before you today to announce my candidacy for President of the United States of America.“ Obama would be the first African-American in this office, so naturally his campaign emphasizes “a change“.

From the beginning of his campaign, Barack Obama has made it a major point that one of the first things he plans to do if elected is put an end to the war in Iraq. He also has plans to boost energy independence. Another of his priorities is health care.

One-time enemies, John McCain and Mitt Romney have joined forces in Utah today for their greater good, John McCain as President of the United States. They did not seem to like each other while campaigning for the Republican nomination. Romney accused McCain of adding to the problem, while McCain claimed Romney was one to go the way the wind blows.

Romney promised to help McCain, stating, “He is a man who is proven and tested”. He claims McCain is the right man for the job.

Back in February, before leaving the race, Romney won 90% of the Utah vote. McCain only won 5%. Thanks to being a Mormon and overseeing the Olympics in 2002, Mitt Romney has some strong ties in this state.

After leaving Utah, the pair took off to Denver for a fundraiser with Meg Whitman, the parting eBay Inc. chief executive. Whitman, a Romney supporter, who has begun to back McCain.

After realizing he could not conquer McCain’s lead in the delegate race, Romney pulled out of the presidential race last month. Mitt Romney has said that he would accept a spot as Vice President, but many think he is just looking to run again in 2012.

With the country in the midst of economic crisis, the Democratic presidential candidates said today they have plans to repair it. Obama is turning his attention to homeowners while Clinton is focusing on a job-retraining program.

The plans for both candidates depend on the billions of tax dollars to aid in the housing crisis and the negative change in the economy.

Obama is asking for a $30 billon relief package for the victims of this crisis, the homeowners. He said, “If we can extend a hand to banks on Wall Street when they get into trouble, we can extend a hand to Americans who are struggling often through no fault of their own

Clinton’s plan in a $2.5 billon job-retraining program. Taking a stab at John McCain, she said, “We need a president who is ready and willing and able to answer that call. It seems like if the phone were ringing, he would just let it ring. And ring and ring” McCain responded by saying “there is a tendency for liberals to seek big government programs that sock it to American taxpayers while failing to solve the very real problems we face.”

The candidates continue to campaign. Clinton is off to Indiana while Obama heads out on a bus tour across the state of Pennsylvania.
